    Phantasy Star es una de las sagas más longevas de Sega. Desde sus comienzos como una saga de rol clásica, con títulos de importante calidad, ha llegado a evolucionar como pocas pueden hacerlo, adaptándose al mundo online completamente. El genial juego de Dreamcast Phantasy Star Online pasará a la historia por ser el primer MMORPG para una consola doméstica.

    Pasó bastante tiempo desde que la saga se estrenase de una forma tan particular en la última máquina de Sega, y el concepto mundial que se tenía de ella se había asociado al universo de Internet. Nos llega ahora una nueva entrega, Phantasy Star Universe, con una sorpresa en su interior: aúna en un solo disco las dos vertientes de la saga, un intenso juego de rol offline, siguiendo las raíces de la saga, y un eterno mundo online similar al de sus últimas vertientes.

    De este modo, nos encontramos con lo que podríamos considerar dos juegos en uno. A pesar de compartir los aspectos técnicos, como es lógico por otra parte, las historias son independientes, y se puede disfrutar de una sin la otra sin ningún tipo de problema. Mismos escenarios y apartados visuales para dos modos distintos de disfrutar un juego, con un aceptable resultado final.
